Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 28, 2026

Brand Voice Builder helps you create a reusable Brand Voice & AI Context Guide for the AI tools you already use. This policy explains, in plain language, what information the app collects, how it is used, who it is shared with, and how you can delete it. It describes how the application actually works today.

Information we collect

Account information. If you create an account, we store your email address and — if you provide it — your name. Passwords are handled by our authentication provider and are never stored or visible to us. You may also sign in with a magic email link or with Google.

Your questionnaire responses. Everything you type or dictate into Quick Start or Deep Dive: business details, audience, positioning, voice and style preferences, beliefs, writing samples, boundaries, trusted sources, and any notes you add.

Voice transcriptions. When you use voice input, the resulting text transcription is placed in the answer field. Only text you keep is saved. We do not store audio recordings (see “Voice input” below).

AI-generated interpretations. Summaries, insights, and synthesized sections generated from your answers, plus any edits you make to them.

Generated guides. Copies of guides you export are recorded in your account so you can see your export history.

Brand Kit uploads (account holders only). Files you choose to upload — logos, headshots, graphics, writing samples, documents — plus the file name, type, size, and any notes you add, and the AI-generated summary of those files.

Local browser storage. If you start without an account, your answers are stored only in your own browser's local storage on your device. When signed in, your session token is stored in your browser so you stay logged in.

Technical/operational information. Standard server and error logs generated by our hosting and backend providers (for example request errors). We do not run Google Analytics, advertising pixels, or any third-party analytics or tracking tools in this application, and we do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

How we use information

  • To create and update your Brand Voice & AI Context Guide
  • To save your progress so you can leave and come back
  • To let you review, edit, and re-export your guide
  • To generate AI-assisted interpretations and summaries of your own answers
  • To support both the Quick Start and Deep Dive paths
  • To provide account functionality (sign-in, password reset, profile)
  • To operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the reliability of the application

We do not use your content for advertising, and we do not sell personal information.

AI processing

Some features require sending information you provide to third-party AI services. This happens only when a feature needs it:

  • Answer interpretation and synthesis (“Here's what I heard”, your voice summary, communication philosophy, core beliefs, language notes, insights) — your relevant answers are sent for processing.
  • Brand Kit summaries — uploaded images and document text you choose to analyze are sent for processing.
  • LLM test preview — your AI-ready guide text and the sample task are sent for processing.
  • Voice transcription — your recorded audio is sent for transcription.

These requests are routed through the Lovable AI Gateway, our application platform's AI service, which forwards them to the underlying model providers: Google (Gemini models) for interpretation, synthesis, kit summaries, and the test preview, and OpenAI for speech-to-text transcription.

Document generation (PDF and Word) happens entirely in your own browser — those files are not created or stored on a server.

We do not control and do not make claims about these providers' retention, security, or model-training practices. Please review their own terms and privacy documentation. Because your answers may pass through third-party services, do not enter information you are not comfortable processing outside your own systems.

Voice input

Here is exactly what happens when you tap the microphone:

  • Your browser asks your permission to use your microphone.
  • Audio is captured in your browser and, when you tap stop, converted into a single audio file in memory.
  • That audio file is transmitted to our server and immediately forwarded to the speech-to-text service (OpenAI, via the Lovable AI Gateway) to be transcribed.
  • We do not save the audio. It is not written to our database or file storage. It exists only in memory for the length of the request, then is discarded. We cannot claim anything about how long the transcription provider holds a request in its own systems.
  • Only the resulting text transcription is returned to you. It is placed in the answer box where you can read, edit, replace, or delete it before it is saved.
  • Transcribed text you keep is saved the same way as typed answers, and you can edit or delete it at any time — including by deleting the brand profile or your whole account.

Data sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with service providers needed to operate the application:

  • Lovable — application hosting, backend database, authentication, file storage, and the AI Gateway.
  • Supabase — the underlying database, authentication, and file storage infrastructure used by our backend.
  • Google — AI models used for interpretation and synthesis, and Google Sign-In if you choose it.
  • OpenAI — speech-to-text transcription for voice input.

We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the security and integrity of the service.

Data retention

Account data is kept for as long as your account exists. We do not delete your guides on a schedule — you decide when they go.

Work started without an account lives only in your browser's local storage. We never receive it unless you create an account, at which point it moves into your account. It stays on your device until you create an account, clear your browser storage, or use a different browser or device. There is no automatic expiration.

Voice audio is not retained by us at all (see above).

After deletion, your data is removed from our live database and file storage. Backups and operational/error logs maintained by our hosting and backend providers may retain copies for a limited period before they age out on their normal cycle, so we cannot promise instant, everywhere-at-once erasure.

Your choices

  • Review. Everything we hold is visible in the app: your dashboard, your answers, your guide, and your Brand Kit.
  • Update. Edit any answer, interpretation, or profile detail at any time.
  • Delete specific data. Delete an individual brand profile, guide, or uploaded file from within the app.
  • Delete your account. Go to your account page and use Delete My Account & Data. This removes your profile, brand profiles, questionnaire answers (typed and transcribed), AI interpretations and synthesized content, saved guide versions, uploaded Brand Kit files and their summaries, and your sign-in record. It cannot be undone.
  • Email communication. We send only account and transactional email (sign-in links, password resets, email confirmation). We do not send marketing email from this application, and creating an account does not sign you up for marketing.
  • Questions. Contact us at Sabrina@2727shivers.com.

Security

Your data is stored in a managed database with row-level security policies so that each account can read and write only its own records. Uploaded files live in a private storage bucket restricted to the owning account. Traffic is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Authentication and password handling are managed by our authentication provider, and administrative credentials are kept server-side only.

No system can be guaranteed completely secure, and we do not claim otherwise. Please use a strong, unique password and keep sensitive information out of your guide.

Children

Brand Voice Builder is a business tool intended for professional use by adults. It is not directed to children, and it is not intended for anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a minor has provided information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the application changes. The “Last updated” date above will change when we do. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
